Since establishing in 2016, the volunteers at Daisy Hill Conservation Park in Logan have been hosting fortnightly ecological restoration or citizen science events. This dynamic group of volunteers is involved in glossy black-cockatoo monitoring, hold informative sessions, and undertake critical habitat restoration work.

This group works various areas within the park, assisting Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service rangers by removing invasive species, logging citizen science data, and more.

About Daisy Hill Conservation Park

Daisy Hill Conservation Park protects an important remnant of eucalypt forest in Logan and provides a vital refuge for native wildlife within an urban landscape. The park is best known for its population of koalas, making it a key conservation area for this iconic and vulnerable species in South East Queensland.

The forest supports a variety of native plants and animals, including birdlife, reptiles, and small mammals, while also contributing to broader ecological connections across the region.

Daisy Hill is highly valued by the community, offering accessible walking and cycling trails, picnic areas, and opportunities to experience nature close to the city. The Daisy Hill Koala Centre also plays an important role in education and awareness.

The park faces ongoing pressures from habitat fragmentation, invasive weeds, and human impacts. Active management focuses on protecting koala habitat and restoring native vegetation.

Daisy Hill Conservation Park remains a key site for both conservation and community connection to nature.
