Potoroo Protectors
Safeguarding the long-nosed potoroo through targeted predator control, habitat research, and community-led conservation across South East Queensland.

Fluttering Wings
Citizen science, education, and awareness of the Gold Coast’s two threatened butterfly species – the Richmond birdwing butterfly and the Illidge’s ant-blue.

Sheep Station Creek
Ecological restoration, citizen science, and nest box monitoring through establishing Friends of Sheep Station Creek Conservation Park in Upper Caboolture.

Detection Dog
Friends of Vernon Conservation Park on the Fraser Coast have trained Tilly the fox detection dog to combat one of the biggest threats to our native wildlife.

Burleigh-Tallebudgera
Our first-ever region-specific Volunteer Coordinator to boost and bolster volunteer engagement on the southern Gold Coast.

Training and delivering Threatened Flora Surveys in partnership with Queensland Threatened Plant Network and our member groups.
Past Projects

Koala Habitat
Friends of Pine Ridge Conservation Park planted over 13,000 koala habitat trees in 2023-2024 to increase habitat for the endangered koala on the northern Gold Coast.

Engaging Science
Connecting local communities, Traditional Owners, researchers, and volunteers across three local government areas between 2023-2024.

Nest Boxes
Friends of Nerang National Park installed 48 nest boxes throughout the park for the endangered greater glider on the Gold Coast, with monitoring ongoing.
