FrogID Week, running from 6th to 15th November, is Australia’s biggest frog count and every recording makes a difference. By joining this guided evening walk through Dularcha National Park, you’ll be contributing real citizen science data to researchers working to understand frog populations and ecosystem health across South East Queensland.

Led by Dr Katrin Lowe, you’ll explore the park after dark, listening for frog calls, learning to identify the species that call Dularcha National Park home, and recording your observations using the free FrogID app. No prior experience is needed and all are welcome.

Dularcha National Park protects a significant area of native bushland and wildlife habitat on the Sunshine Coast, and is home to a wonderful diversity of amphibian species. After dark, the park comes alive with the calls of frogs and the sounds of nocturnal wildlife and this guided walk is your chance to experience it firsthand.

This frog monitoring event is part of a bigger evening of activities for Friends of Dularcha. Before the survey kicks off, the group will be running a weed management working bee from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, followed by an end of year celebration with snacks at Mooloolah River Landcare Nursery from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. You’re welcome to join for the whole afternoon and evening, or just come along for the frog monitoring!

Spaces are strictly limited, so register early to secure your spot. This event is suitable for ages 16+, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A moderate level of fitness is required.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to check in.
