Gold Coast Volunteer Event – David Fleay Conservation Park Habitat Restoration

Join Friends of David Fleay Conservation Park for a hands-on volunteering event in David Fleay Conservation Park, southern Gold Coast.

Located along the northern banks of Tallebudgera Creek, just outside David Fleay Wildlife Park on Kombumerri Country, David Fleay Conservation Park is one of the Gold Coast’s most ecologically significant natural areas. The park is home to wild koalas, wallabies, and a number of rare and threatened plant species, and holds deep cultural heritage and significance to the Kombumerri people. Protecting and restoring this remarkable conservation park is at the heart of everything Friends of David Fleay Conservation Park does.

Meeting twice a month, Friends of David Fleay Conservation Park brings together passionate community volunteers to help care for and restore this important Gold Coast conservation area through practical, hands-on environmental work. Volunteers can assist with activities such as weed removal, habitat restoration, citizen science surveys, and educational activities that encourage a deeper connection to this special place and its rich biodiversity.

Perfect for Gold Coast nature lovers, bushcare volunteers, students, and anyone passionate about wildlife conservation and protecting Queensland’s natural environment, these volunteer-led habitat restoration days offer a rewarding way to gain practical conservation experience, connect with the local Gold Coast community, and make a real difference for one of the region’s most valued natural areas.

New and experienced volunteers are welcome. No prior experience is required. These events are best suited for ages 16+, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
