Sunshine Coast Volunteer Event – Mapleton Falls National Park

Sunshine Coast Volunteer Event – Mapleton Falls National Park

Join Friends of Parks – Mapleton Falls and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships rangers for a hands-on conservation volunteering event in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Located on Jinibara Country, Mapleton Falls National Park may cover just 26 hectares, but this spectacular protected area is home to stunning rainforest scenery, rich biodiversity, and the iconic 120-metre Mapleton Falls lookout. With thousands of visitors exploring the park each year, ongoing conservation work is essential to maintain walking tracks, visitor facilities, and control invasive weeds that threaten native plants and wildlife.

This monthly volunteer conservation event offers a unique opportunity to work alongside QPWS rangers, learn about national park management, and discover the cultural and environmental significance of the landscape. Volunteers may assist with activities such as weed management, habitat restoration, track maintenance, and biodiversity conservation.

Perfect for nature lovers, aspiring park rangers, conservation students, bushcare volunteers, and anyone interested in environmental stewardship, these ranger-led volunteer days are a rewarding way to gain practical conservation experience while helping protect one of the Sunshine Coast’s most scenic national parks.

New and experienced volunteers are welcome. A moderate level of fitness is recommended. This event is suitable for ages 16+. RSVP is essential.
