Gold Coast Volunteer Event – Nerang National Park Citizen Science
Join a Friends of Nerang National Park for the Great Glossy Count 2026.
Located on Kombumerri Country, Nerang National Park spans more than 1,600 hectares in the central Gold Coast and provides habitat for over 12 threatened species, rare ecological communities, and diverse native wildlife. It is a great spot to see glossy black-cockatoos, a threatened species that is seen throughout the park.
New and experienced volunteers are welcome. A moderate level of fitness is recommended. This event is suitable for ages 16+, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Great Glossy Count runs over 2 days: the 16th and the 17th of May. Bookings are essential.
